HELLO FROM THE COAST

July has arrived, bringing with it longer days, warmer evenings, and that unmistakable sense that summer is finally here. This time of year is when Rockley Park and the Poole coastline truly come to life — with families, couples, and four-legged friends all enjoying the sea air, harbour views, and peaceful coastal walks.

As always, we love keeping you updated with the latest from Pebble & Pine Escapes, as well as sharing some of our favourite local recommendations to help you make the most of your time here.

We are always looking for small ways to make your stay even more enjoyable. Whether it’s thoughtful touches indoors or improvements to help you enjoy the outdoors, we’ve made a few updates over the past month that we hope you will love.

Our terrace area has had a little refresh. We have added curtains to create a beautiful sense of flow between indoors and outdoors, offering a little more privacy and shelter while still enjoying the fresh air. It is the perfect space for morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of wine in the evening.

Speaking of coffee, we have upgraded to a new coffee machine, so you can start your mornings properly. Whether you are planning a full day of exploring or a slow, relaxing morning at the lodge, your coffee is covered.

We’ve also added a few extra details around the lodge to enhance your stay — it’s all part of our goal to make Pebble & Pine Escapes feel like your home away from home.

WONDER THROUGH POOLE

Littledown Cycle Trail & Baiter Park Loop

An easy, scenic trail combining peaceful parkland with harbour views. Start at Littledown and enjoy a gentle loop that leads through green spaces and along the water at Baiter Park. It’s dog-friendly, family-friendly, and perfect for a morning or afternoon stroll.

Sandbanks to Shell Bay Coastal Walk

For a classic coastal adventure, walk from Sandbanks Beach along the peninsula towards Shell Bay. Expect wide open sea views, soft sand underfoot, and plenty of opportunities to stop for a drink or simply breathe in that fresh sea air. You can return the same way or hop on the bus for an easy trip back.

EAT IN POOLE

The Brasserie, Poole Quay

Modern British dining with a focus on local seafood and seasonal produce. The Brasserie offers a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, perfect for a summer evening meal with views over the harbour.

The Boathouse, Creekmoor

A welcoming, family-run spot with wood-fired pizzas, fresh salads, and a dog-friendly garden. It’s a great choice for a casual lunch or dinner after exploring the coast — ideal for families or relaxed meals with friends.

ENJOY POOLE

Sailing on Poole Harbour

The calm summer waters of Poole Harbour make this the perfect time to get out on the water. Half-day sailing trips depart regularly from Poole Quay — ideal for admiring the coast from a different perspective.

Swanage Regatta & Carnival — 18th to 20th July

This lively weekend event in Swanage features rowing races, live music, craft stalls, and plenty of entertainment along the seafront. A fantastic day out if you’re staying mid-July, with a real community atmosphere and plenty for all ages to enjoy.

Hero Ingredient of the Month: Lavender

Each month, we celebrate a seasonal ingredient — something you’ll spot in the local area or that simply captures the feeling of the season.

For July, it’s all about lavender — known for its calming scent and beautiful purple blooms, often seen in gardens and along the coast at this time of year.

And because we love bringing a little of that lavender magic into the kitchen, we’ll be sharing a delicious lavender shortbread cookie recipe very soon. Keep an eye on our social media — you won’t want to miss it.

Thinking of Booking? Don’t Miss Out

July is nearly fully booked and August availability is limited, so if you’ve been thinking about your next coastal escape, now’s the time to plan it.

Our lodge offers the perfect base for beach days, coastal walks, and peaceful evenings with stunning harbour views — and for the very best rates, always book directly through our website.

Thank You for Supporting Our Small Business

We love welcoming guests to Pebble & Pine Escapes and seeing so many of you return time and time again. Whether it’s your first visit or your fifth, your support means everything to us.

We can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been working on — and keep an eye out for that lavender cookie recipe landing soon.

Warm wishes,

Ben & Kate
